खाद्यपदार्थ आणि वाक्प्रचार 



1. चापटपोळी 

चापटपोळी - चापट, A slap 

उदा० ' शिक्षकांनी मुलांना पुष्कळशा चापटपोळ्या दिल्या' म्हणजे म्हणजे चापटरूपी पोळ्या खाऊं घातल्या.  हा शब्द थट्टेनें वापरतात. पोळी रुंट असते तशी चापटही असते; ह्या साम्यावरून चापटीला पोळीची उपमा दिली आहे. .

2. धम्मकलाडू 

धम्मकलाडू' :

अर्थ : मुठीने केलेला प्रहार.

समानार्थी : गुद्दा, ठोसा, बुक्की, मुष्टिघात, मुष्टिप्रहार

उदाहरणे : चापटपोळी ह्या शब्दाप्रमाणें, थट्टेनें वापरतात. 

पाठीत एकधम्मक लाडू वळावेत बसताच तो खाली पडला.


3. बोलाची कढी, बोलाचा भात (boastful rice and curry)

Used to describe empty talk or boastful promises without action.

ह्या म्हणीचा अर्थ आहे आश्वासने देणे जेणेकरून ऐकणारा ला उद्युक्त करता येईल'. श्रोता जेंव्हा ओळखतो की सांगणारा खोटेच असे सांगून प्रलोभन दाखवत आहे; तेव्हा श्रोत्याच्या मनातले विचार ही म्हण सांगते. 


4. उतू आणलेली शिळी कढी

(Boiled Old Curry) - Used to describe old issues that are being brought up again.

“शिळ्या कढीला ऊत आणणे.” 

अर्थ: जुन्या गोष्टीला नवे स्वरूप देऊन किंवा स्मरणातून गेलेले प्रसंग उकरून काढून, त्याबद्दल विनाकारण वाद घालणे 

 Example: 

"तू जुनी शिळी कढी उतू आणू नकोस." 

(Don't bring up old issues.)


5. तिंबलेली कणीक (Kneaded Dough) 

कणिक तिंबणे या वाक्प्रचाराचा अर्थ मार देणे हा होय. 

- Used to describe someone who is tired or worn out.

Example: "ती तिंबलेल्या कणकेसारखी दिसत आहे." 

(She looks worn out like kneaded dough.)

तिंबलेली कणीक हा वाक्प्रचार विशेषण म्हणुन वापरला जातो.


6. नाकाने सोललेले कांदे 

नाकाने सोललेले कांदे** - (Onions Peeled by Nose) - Used to describe unnecessary hard work or doing something the hard way.

 - Example: "नाकाने कांदे सोलायचे काम करू नकोस." (Don't do unnecessary hard work.)


7. नाकाला झोंबणाऱ्या मिरच्या - (Chilies That Sting the Nose) - Used to describe a situation or person causing irritation or trouble.


8. भ्रमाचा भोपळा - (Illusionary Pumpkin) - Used to describe a false appearance or something that looks good but isn't real.

   

9. पाठीचे धिरडे - (Back Pancakes) - Used to describe someone who is overly submissive or obsequious.

   

10. डोक्यातील कांदे-बटाटे - (Onions and Potatoes in the Head) - Used to describe confusion or muddled thoughts.

    - Example: "डोक्यातील कांदे-बटाटे काढून टाक." (Clear the confusion from your head.)


11. मनातील मांडे - (daydreams from the Heart) - Used to describe cherished dreams or desires.


12. डोक्यावर वाटलेल्या मिऱ्या - (Pepper Grains on the Head) - Used to describe someone who is being deceived or taken advantage of.


13. हास्याची खसखस** - (Poppy Seeds of Laughter) - Used to describe a situation filled with laughter and joy.


14. **इज्जतीचा फालुदा - (mockery of Respect) - Used to describe a situation where one's respect is diminished or made a mockery of.

    - Example: "तुझ्या वागण्याने माझी इज्जतीचा फालुदा झाला." (Your behavior made a mockery of my respect.)


15. पुराणातील वांगी - Used to describe old stories or exaggerated tales.

    - Example: "तो पुन्हा पुराणातील वांगी सांगतोय." (He is telling old exaggerated stories again.)


16. न शिजणारी डाळ - (Uncooked Lentils) - Used to describe a situation or person that is difficult to deal with or understand.

    - Example: "तो माणूस न शिजणारी डाळ आहे." (He is a difficult person to deal with.)


17. अंगाचा होणारा तिळपापड - (Sesame Brittle of the Body) - Used to describe someone who is extremely frustrated or angry.

    - Example: "तिचा अंगाचा तिळपापड होतोय." (Her anger is making her extremely frustrated.)


18. नावडतीचे अळणी मीठ- (Bland Salt of Dislike) - Used to describe something or someone you dislike or have no interest in.

    - Example: "तिचं बोलणं नावडतीचं अळणी मीठ आहे." (Her talk is like bland salt to me.)


19. चर्चेचं कडबोळे - (Crisps of Discussion) - Used to describe a confusing or complicated discussion.


20. अमिषाचं गाजर - (Carrot of Temptation) - Used to describe an attractive offer used to tempt someone.

    - Example: "त्याने अमिषाचं गाजर दाखवलं." (He showed the carrot of temptation.)


21. पुंगी बनवायचे गाजर- (Carrot for Making a Flute) - Used to describe something useless or impractical.

    - Example: "हे काम पुंगी बनवायचे गाजर आहे." (This task is useless.)


22. लपवलेल्या भांड्यातील ताक - (Hidden Buttermilk in a Pot) - Used to describe hidden motives or intentions.

    - Example: "तुझ्या बोलण्यामागे लपवलेल्या भांड्यातील ताक आहे." (There are hidden motives behind your words.)


23. बाजारातील तुरी - (Pigeon Peas of the Market) - Used to describe something or someone available to everyone, not unique or special.

    - Example: "तो मुलगा बाजारातील तुरी आहे." (He is common and not unique.)


24. हातावर दिलेल्या तुरी - (Pigeon Peas Given on the Palm) - Used to describe an open-handed insult or humiliation.

    

25. ताकास लावलेली तूर - (Pigeon Peas Added to Buttermilk) - Used to describe something unnecessary or redundant.

   

26. पचका वडा - (Squashed Vada) - Used to describe a failure or a flop.

    - Example: "त्याचा प्रोजेक्ट पचका वडा झाला." (His project was a failure.)


27. लाडीगोडी लावायचा मस्का (लोणी) - (Butter for Sweet Talking) - Used to describe flattering someone for personal gain.


28. कोल्ह्याला आंबट असणारी द्राक्षे - (Sour Grapes for the Fox) - Used to describe someone who belittles something they cannot have.

   

29. कोल्हा राजी असणारी काकडी - (Cucumber Relished by the Fox) - Used to describe someone satisfied with something mediocre.

    - Example: "तो कोल्हा राजी असणारी काकडी आहे." (He is satisfied with something mediocre.)


30. स्वतः च्याच पोळीवर वाढलेले तूप - (Ghee on One's Own Roti) - Used to describe someone benefiting themselves


31. कानामागून येऊन झालेले तिखट  (Hot from Behind the Ears) - Used to describe someone inexperienced acting knowledgeable.

Example: 

कानामागून येऊन तिखट झालेले पोर आहे." (He is inexperienced but acts knowledgeable.)
