Am, is and are
And
Was, were
Am', 'is' and 'are' are special helping verbs. They are used when the action is happening right now i.e. present time.
'Was' and 'were' are in the past tense. They're used for the things or events that have already happened.
Am, is, are and was, were are 'to be ' verbs. They show the existence of something.
Every language has such different words for the existence.
e.g. in Hindi we know we use,
Mai hu
Tum ho
We/wah Hain.
I am a boy.
(Mai ladka hu.)
These are boys.
(Yeh ladke hai.)
Those are boys.
(We ladke Hain.)
'Am', 'is' and 'are' and 'was'/'were' are used as follows:
